Pam Bevis Named New Principal of Miami High School and Miami Junior High

Miami, OK – The Miami Public Schools district is proud to announce the appointment of Pam Bevis as the new principal of Miami High School and Miami Junior High School, effective for the 2025-2026 school year. Bevis brings with her nearly four decades of experience in education, leadership, and student-focused innovation.

Mrs. Bevis is no stranger to the Wardog family—she is currently serving as the assistant principal for Miami High School and Junior High, a role in which she has already made a lasting impact through her commitment to student achievement and staff support. Her promotion to principal is a natural next step in her continued leadership within the district.

Throughout her career, Bevis has been dedicated to creating student-centered environments that motivate both teachers and learners to reach their full potential. Her professional mission aligns seamlessly with the values of Miami Public Schools.

She holds a Master of Educational Administration from Missouri State University (1992) and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Pittsburg State University (1985). Her extensive background includes teaching and coaching at the elementary, middle, and high school levels across Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Prior to joining Miami Public Schools, she served in key educational roles at Riverton USD 404, Wyandotte I-1, and Golden City R-III.

Bevis has been a driving force in educational leadership initiatives, including serving on AdvancEd External Review Teams, leading curriculum realignment efforts, mentoring new teachers, and presenting at state and national education conferences. She was also named Teacher of the Year at Wyandotte I-1 and has earned multiple coaching accolades.

Pam Bevis currently resides in Joplin, Missouri, and looks forward to continuing her strong connection with the Miami community in this new leadership role.

Miami Public Schools Welcomes Brandon O’Field as New Assistant Principal at Miami High School and Miami Junior High

Miami, OK – Miami Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Brandon O’Field as the new Assistant Principal serving both Miami High School and Miami Junior High School. Mr. O’Field brings with him nearly two decades of experience in education, leadership, and student support, and he will officially begin his new role in the 2025-2026 school year.

Mr. O’Field holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Northern Colorado. He is a licensed administrator and certified educator in the state of Oklahoma, with credentials in a wide range of secondary social studies subjects.

Throughout his career, Mr. O’Field has demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering student achievement and building collaborative school communities. His leadership roles have included serving as Principal and Athletic Director at West Ridge Academy in Colorado, Dean of Students at Brighton Heritage Academy, and most recently as District Administrator, Transportation Director, and Co-Athletic Director at Salina Public Schools in Salina, OK.

“Brandon O’Field is an accomplished educator and administrator whose track record speaks for itself,” said Principal Amie Whitehill. “His focus on data-driven decision-making, student-centered leadership, and staff development aligns perfectly with our goals for continued academic growth and positive school culture.”

In previous roles, Mr. O’Field successfully implemented schoolwide discipline systems, increased student achievement scores through strategic academic programs, and built strong relationships with both internal teams and the wider community. His experience in both urban and rural school settings will be an asset to the diverse student body at Miami High School and Miami Junior High.

“I’m honored to join the Miami Public Schools team and excited to support the incredible work already happening at both campuses,” said Mr. O’Field. “My goal is to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally by partnering with educators, families, and the community.”
